To experiment and transfer into clinical practice the achieved results and the research activity.

To experiment and transfer into clinical practice the achieved results, the research activity is carried out inside the Cisanello hospital structures (Map), in close contact of the medical partners and the operating rooms.

The EndoCAS Centre is an autonomous building of 250 mq, consisting of 2 laboratories equipped with all the instruments needed to carry out reserach, a replica of a typical operating room, equipped with all the furniture and instrumentation of a real operating room, a meeting room and some other service rooms.

The Centre EndoCAS was financed from the MIUR (Ministero dell’Istruzione dell’Università e della Ricerca) with the Decreto Ministeriale of the 17October 2003, prot. n. 193/2003, on the basis of the call “Cofinaziamento Centri di Eccellenza Bando 2001”. The proposal consortium was mainly composed by the University of Pisa, Scuola Superiore S. Anna and CNR (National Research Council).

The total amount of funds was 1400 k€ (80% provided by MIUR, and 20% co-financed by University of Pisa). The funds covered the activities of the first three years of the Centre (from January 2004 to December 2006).
